H2O Power is issuing a flood warning to all users along the Seine River System. Flooding is
occurring in Upper Marmion while flooding below Raft Lake Dam is either imminent or already
occurring. Flow conditions throughout the system are above the 100th percentile. At the time
of this writing, Raft Lake’s outflow is 224 m3/s which is the largest magnitude released since
2000 (previous record outflow 216 m3/s on June 29, 2002). The precipitation forecast group
within the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry precipitation is forecasting 50 mm
of accumulated precipitation within the next 5 days. Should these amounts materialize, it is
expected that conditions will be exacerbated throughout the watershed.
H2O Power advises all users to appropriate care, caution and re-consider use of activities along
the Seine River. Lake/River levels and flows are rising and may continue to rise rapidly. Minor
flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Users are advised to stay clear of fast-flowing rivers and
potentially unstable riverbanks during the high-streamflow period. H2O Power continues to
monitor conditions closely
